Thank You!

Neugeborenes Baby, geboren in einer Patty’s Child Clinic in Pakistan

If you can dream it, you can do IT!

But definitely not alone!

Patty's Child Clinics Pakistan would not be possible without the support of many dedicated individuals, organisations and partners. Behind every clinic, every safe birth and every healthy baby are people who believe in this vision and support it.
Every contribution – large or small – makes a real difference.
It enables medical care, provides safety and changes lives for the long term.

And for that, we would like to say THANK YOU!

Patricia Poetis

Founder of
Patty's Child Clinics Pakistan

As the founder of Patty's Child Clinics Pakistan, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation.

This project was born out of a deep conviction – but it could only be realised thanks to the trust, support and commitment of so many people.

Every donation, every partnership and every helping hand contributes to ensuring that mothers can give birth safely and children can start their lives in good health. What seems obvious to us is becoming a reality for many families in Pakistan thanks to your support.

I would like to thank all the supporters who are walking this path with us.

This project does not belong to me alone – it belongs to all of us.
And now I would like to pass the floor to some of the people who make Patty's Child Clinics possible.

Honorary Consul Of Pakistan For BavARia And Baden-Württemberg a. D.

As former Honorary Consul of Pakistan for Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, I had the privilege of witnessing the close ties between Germany and Pakistan over many years. During this time, I got to know the country, its people and, in particular, the challenges in the field of medical care at close quarters.

The high maternal and neonatal mortality rates, especially in rural areas, moved me deeply. This made me all the more convinced that sustainable aid can only be effective if it is locally anchored, planned for the long term and implemented professionally.

Patty's Child Clinics Pakistan embodies precisely this approach. Here, medical quality, human compassion and local partnership-based cooperation come together to form an initiative that brings about real change.

I am proud to have accompanied and actively supported this project from the very beginning.
Every clinic, every safe birth and every healthy child confirms that commitment, cooperation and trust can change lives.

My heartfelt thank you goes to all the supporters who make this work possible.
Together, we give mothers security, children a healthy future and entire families new hope.

As a native of Chillianwala, I have witnessed first-hand the challenges many families face when it comes to medical care, especially during pregnancy and childbirth. When Patty’s Child Clinics was first envisioned, I immediately recognized the importance of this project for our community.

As President of the Lions Club Chillianwala, I have been closely involved in accompanying the clinics on site – from identifying suitable locations to supporting the implementation and monitoring their progress. Ensuring that these clinics truly meet the needs of the local population has always been a central focus of my work.

I regularly report on developments and progress, acting as a link between the local communities and the project partners. It is a privilege to support an initiative that brings sustainable medical care, safety and hope to mothers and children in my home region. I am proud to be part of a project that is creating lasting change where it is most needed.

Dear Ms Poetis,

Your desire to ensure the health of mothers and children, especially before and after birth, in rural areas became a project close to your heart, which is why you decided to develop ‘Patty's Child Clinics Pakistan’, a mother-child clinic project in close cooperation with the Lions organisation.

With a call for donations, which raised over €70,000 in the foundation's inaugural year of 2012 alone, the German Lions Foundation in Wiesbaden was able to apply to Lions International in Oak Brook for assistance and support. the amount donated to this project was multiplied and construction of the first mother-child clinic in Chillianwalla began, which was inaugurated on 9 January 2016.

Thanks to your sustained and consistent work on the project, over €300,000 has been made available to date for the construction of mother-and-child clinics, with significant support from the German Lions Foundation in conjunction with Lions International. A very special achievement.

To date, three mother-and-child clinics have been built. Number 1 in Chillianwalla (opened on 9 January 2016), number 2 in Mianwal Ranjha (opened on 1 February 2020) and number 3 in Chak 16 (opened on 10 May 2021), all in Pakistan's most populous region, the Punjab.

These currently serve a catchment area of over 2 million people.
To date (as of 2022), over 15,000 children have been born in the clinics and 31,000 mothers have received prenatal and postnatal care. An important pillar of treatment is the vaccination campaign for young children, which has significantly reduced infant mortality. Thanks to the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for all three clinics, stillbirths and maternal deaths in childbirth have been completely eliminated. A great success.

It is only thanks to her assertiveness and persistence that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Minister of Health of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Aamir Mehmood Kiani, Federal Minister for National Health Services, in 2018 in the presence of representatives of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and the German Ambassador in Islamabad. In this agreement, the Pakistani state undertakes to provide medical staff (doctors, nurses, midwives) and their remuneration for a period of at least 10 years, as well as all other running costs for all Patty's Child Clinics established by Lions organisations.

We particularly appreciate your persuasiveness, not only in terms of continuous fundraising, but also in terms of putting together the teams and involving key players on the ground in Pakistan.

We look forward to continuing to work with you and hope to be able to continue to drive forward our joint projects so successfully.

We would like to thank you, dear Ms Poetis, for your many years of trustful cooperation, your energy combined with your boundless creative sustainability, and your courage in helping the poorest of the poor, even in seemingly hopeless situations.

We are delighted to be able to contribute to the Pattys Child Clinic Pakistan project, as healthcare and preventive care are extremely important in Pakistan.

This wonderful work was initiated and carried out by Patricia Poetis. The first babies have now been born. For the mothers, this means being in a hygienic environment and in the professional hands of the doctors and nurses at the clinic.
